RULES / ELIGIBILITY
There is no fee for entry.
Submissions may be entered by individuals or teams.
Each team may only submit one idea or innovative solution.
Each team must be registered Gallaudet students; if you are submitting as an individual, you must be a currently registered Gallaudet student.
Currently registered Gallaudet students include all full-time and part-time undergraduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral candidates.
Gallaudet students must submit their @gallaudet.edu email address at submission time.
It is recommended that the mentoring sessions must be attended by at least one Gallaudet student on each team.
A single individual cannot be the sole qualifying student for two teams.
Entries must be the original work of entrants.
Teams must not have accepted any institutional funding for the idea being presented (i.e. the team cannot have sold equity to anyone outside the team – including non-managing founders).
Non-institutional funding includes contests, grants, friends and family, bank loans, etc. where there is no equity ownership associated with the funding.
The GIEI/Convo Review Team will deliberate on the eligibility and communicate the decision to the team. The decision of the GIEI/Convo Review Team on the eligibility of the entrant is final and cannot be appealed.
The individual recipients of prize money will be responsible for the tax implications of their winnings.
There will be a total of five judges per round. Scoring rubrics will be the same for both rounds. Pitches will be scored on the following content.
What Is the Problem (Challenge Statement)
What is Your Solution (Value Proposition)
Who Are Your Targeted Customers (Market Segment)
Who Is Your Competition (Market Research)
How Will You Make Money (Projected Revenue)
What You Will Use the Money For (Projected Expenses)
What Is Your Marketing Strategy (Communications Plan)

Why You/Your Team?
Judges will also score on professionalism, confidence, use of time, and clarity!
